Ha estado en venta la biblioteca de ajedrez de Bobby Fischer con alrededor de 320 libros de ajedrez, 400 periódicos, nueve disquetes personales que quedaban sin ser examinados, notas con preparaciones para las partidas contra Taimanov, Petrossian y Spassky, manuscritos para el libro "Mis 60 partidas memorables", etc. Al parecer, una de las ediciones de "Fischer teaches Chess" (Fischer enseña ajedrez), que se había publicado sin la autorización de Fischer, llevaba una nota de Fischer, diciendo que iba a demandar a la editorial en cuestión. La colección había sido confiscada después de que Fischer infringiese el embargo contra Yugoslavia en 1992. Desde entonces, Fischer fue perseguido por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos como delincuente económico. Ahora la biblioteca de Fischer ha sido subastada por Bonhams and Butterfield en Nueva York. Finalmente, la puja la ganaron Rex y Jeanne Sinquefield, que recientemente habían patrocinado el Campeonato de Estados Unidos 2009 y que fundaron el regio Saint Louis Chess Club. In the diagram position the d5-square has been cleared; but White now has to deal with threats on the c-file. Which evaluations is correct: A) Black has the initiative firmly in his hands since he is threatening ...Rc2; B) It's obvious how White can get the advantage – what are long diagonals for?
